Praised for his “dulcet tones” and as “a name of which you’ll certainly hear more” (Music OMH), Bradyn Debysingh is fast becoming a tenor in demand across the operatic, musical theatre, and concert stages. Recent performances include Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro (Garsington Opera); his Lincoln Center debut for the NextGen Nationals Competition (American Pops Orchestra); and chorus for Aida and Der Fliegende Holländer (Lyric Opera of Chicago). His future engagements include the world premiere of Nicholas Smith’s The Stone God with Arcadian Opera in London and Carissimi’s Jephte with the Brighton Early Music Festival. A frequent baroque interpreter, Bradyn has sung in competitions with the Oratorio Society of New York at Carnegie Hall, the Kentucky Bach Choir, the Colorado Bach Ensemble, the London Handel Festival, and Le Concours Corneille in France. Residencies have included at Tanglewood Music Center, Emmanuel Music, Les Arts Florissants, the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, and Classic Lyric Arts; he has appeared in masterclasses with Erin Morley, Paul Agnew, Peter Harvey, Emma Kirkby, and Matthew Polenzani among others. Mr. Debysingh hails from Cottage Grove, Oregon and is currently on the postgraduate diploma course at the Royal Northern College of Music. He studied at Northwestern University where he was a master’s student of renowned pedagogue W. Stephen Smith and holds additional degrees in classics and musical theatre from Samford University. Beyond singing, Bradyn is an avid tap dancer, published poet, and earl grey enthusiast. SDG
